All games Thursday are cancelled and will be rescheduled. Coaches may call open gym for those healthy enough to attend. Friday and Saturdays games will remain as scheduled.
All games are still on for Friday 1/30 and Saturday 1/31! Concessions for the Junior High home game on friday are hosted by our very own PTO!! Thank you!!
Due to the number of students and staff currently affected by the flu and illness, there will be NO SCHOOL Thursday, January 29th. All games and activities will also be cancelled. Rest up and feel better!
The CHS National Honor Society is going local with their next pizza sale! Shy Simon's will be supplying the pizzas in take 'n bake style in some of their most popular options, as well as some new specialty pizzas. Order forms will be delivered this Monday, January 26th, collected on February 2nd, and pizzas will be delivered on February 9th. Thank you for supporting your Honor Society students!
Council Wig Snachers? That's right ASB hosted an assembly for tip off week, the first game of the week tittled "wig snaching". What a laugh!

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the people of our community. This is the third time this year that I have had the privilege of accepting tool donations for our shop program. These donations come from local businesses, community members, and anonymous donors who continue to demonstrate support for our students and our agricultural education program.
In this case, the tools were generously donated by Paul and Carrie Pedreira. The collection includes a wide range of equipment for carpentry, forestry, masonry, and welding. I cannot adequately express how thankful I am for donations of this caliber. These tools will not only be used daily in our shop, but they will also inspire and educate generations of students to come.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support our program and our students. Your generosity truly makes a difference.

The freshmen used bouncy balls to investigate both exponential and linear relationships in Mrs. Beyuka's Algebra class!
I have yet another great update from the shop!
Last Wednesday, we held our second round of welding qualification testing. Three students attempted the 1G SMAW (flat arc weld) test. This is a challenging qualification that requires multiple passes, a visual inspection, and destructive bend testing.
I am very proud to share that all students passed — Hattie N., Logan T., and Cheyenne S. did an outstanding job. Cheyenne also tested in 1G GMAW (flat wire feed) and absolutely crushed it!
These students spend countless hours in the welding booths and on our new Augmented Arc system. I am extremely proud of their progress and dedication, and I cannot wait to see them take on their 4G (overhead) test this spring.
Spending that much time pad welding and practicing fundamentals can be monotonous, but their success is proof of their skill, discipline, and commitment.
Be proud of this achievement, because I certainly am.

I want to begin highlighting more of the process behind the work happening in the Ag Shop — not just the finished products. While final builds are exciting to see, they only tell part of the story. Countless skills, challenges, and learning moments take place long before a project is complete.
So, every Thursday, be on the lookout for Ag Shop project spotlights.
This week, I am showcasing Remington Crowell’s custom rat-rod build.
Remington brought this idea to me earlier this year, and this project truly reflects the depth of his imagination and creativity. He has invested his own money into sourcing parts and has demonstrated outstanding teamwork alongside his classmate, Ashton Heyrend, who has been involved every step of the way.
This rat-rod is being built completely from scratch. The frame has been fabricated, and we are now using the shop’s CNC plasma table to cut custom brackets for mounts, shocks, struts, and engine components.
Remington’s project represents every stage of the fabrication process, from sketches and measurements on paper to real steel and real results. I cannot wait to see this machine on the road.

Students diligently reading in Mrs. Thompson's 11th grade ELA class. Mrs. Thompson believes reading is important to students' overall academic achievement. It can expand the mind in some of the most complex ways which is something that is extremely beneficial to the students at Council Jr/Senior High. Way to go Mrs. Thompson!
