Testing week is behind us!
While most students were taking ISATs and PSATs, a few of our welders were taking some tests of their own. Today, four seniors in the Ag Welding program tested for certifications in GMAW (MIG) and SMAW (Stick) welding.
Students Wyatt Tharp, Hattie Nunn, Cambria Longtin, and Logan Toombs did an amazing job! Everyone attempted 1G–3G (flat, horizontal, vertical) welds on the MIG welder — and all passed!
Wyatt, Hattie, and Logan also attempted a 1G Stick weld test; while they narrowly missed passing, their progress and determination were outstanding. Cambria took it a step further and attempted a 4G (overhead) weld on the MIG welder, just barely missing her mark as well.
I am extremely proud of the effort and skill these students demonstrated throughout their testing. We’ll get even more certs next go around!

Congratulations to the Council Cross Country team for qualifying as a team for State! To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time in school history we have sent an entire cross country team to state! Way to go Lumberjacks!

The girls volleyball next District game will be AT HOME versus Garden Valley TOMORROW NIGHT, October 22nd at 6:00! Come out to support your Lumberjacks!
It's Pumpkin Day at Council Elementary School! Students received pumpkins to be used for the pumpkin decorating contest on Thursday, October 30th. A special thank you to Purdum's Produce in Fruitland for donating all of the pumpkins and to Tyler and Taylor Shelton, as well as Katie Tharp for getting the pumpkins to the kids.

Our Council School District Employee of the Month for October is our Elementary Secretary Katie Berger. Katie does an incredible job for our district. She goes above and beyond serving our staff and students and is a major asset to our district. Please join us in congratulating Katie Berger as our October Employee of the Month!
Our Ag Shop has been busy this fall! Students are hard at work on their personal projects — some of which will be auctioned off at the FFA Alumni Antler Contest on December 7th, 2025. They’ve been designing, welding, and making repairs nonstop!
If you see something that catches your eye, feel free to reach out to Mr. Power.
And don’t forget! Our Small Engines class is still taking in repair projects! Bring your engine by, and we’ll get it fixed up and running again.
