Jenny Grooms graduated from Boise State University with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education in 1997. After graduation she taught kindergarten and preschool at a private school in Ontario. She then taught sixth grade at Shadow Butte Elementary until 2006. Mrs. Grooms moved to Cambridge with her husband and five children and began teaching at Midvale Junior Senior high school in 2007. Mrs. Grooms went on to earn her Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho in 2013. During her time at Midvale School District, Mrs. Grooms was the Alternative School Principal; Junior High Reading, Math and English teacher; and the kindergarten and first grade teacher. In 2014 Mrs. Grooms moved with her husband to North Dakota and taught 5th grade on the Fort Berthold Reservation in Mandaree, North Dakota. Unfortunately, Mrs. Grooms’s husband was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2015, so the family moved back to Idaho. Mrs. Grooms began teaching at Council Junior/Senior High School in 2016. Mrs. Grooms teaches 7th, 8th, and 12th grade Math, as well as 7th grade Keyboarding and 8th grade Health. Mrs. Grooms is also the 7th grade class adviser. Outside of school Mrs. Grooms enjoys spending time with her five children and 14 grandchildren. She loves to travel and visit friends and family.
